This year we started using Brave Writer’s Dart guides for our language arts curriculum. As part of the “Brave Writer lifestyle”, Julie Bogart recommends having a book club party after you complete each Dart.
We just recently finished the Dart for The House at Pooh Corner by A. A. Milne (we also read the first book, Winnie the Pooh) and had our first book club party! I love a themed party and really enjoyed putting this party together for my kids.
My kids loved the party and said that they felt like they were in the Hundred Acre Wood! Not only are these ideas you can use for a Winnie the Pooh or The House at Pooh Corner book club party, but these are also great ideas for a Winnie the Pooh birthday party or a Winnie the Pooh baby shower!

The House at Pooh Corner Decor
My kids loved reading both Winnie the Pooh and The House at Pooh Corner by A. A. Milne. I love the look of the classic Winnie the Pooh illustrations, so I knew I wanted to go with a classic Winnie the Pooh theme for our party.
I used a combination of thrifted and store-bought items to bring this Winnie the Pooh themed party together.
The items I thrifted were an adorable World Market beehive cookie jar that I used as a centerpiece, as well as the small Winnie the Pooh plush toys that were included as decor on the table. These small plush toys, which included Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and Eeyore, were actually from a used baby mobile!
I also used a damaged version of The House at Pooh Corner to make hexagon shaped table confetti. I printed out the Hundred Acre Wood map placemats myself, and you can easily find these maps on Etsy.
All of the other decor items I used can be found here:
- Pastel light blue latex balloons
- 7″ wood slice plates
- Mint napkins
- Light yellow cups
- Wood slice table scatters
- Jute twine with green leaves

Hundred Acre Wood Treats
I made three Winnie the Pooh themed treats for our party. These are all easy to make recipes using store bought treats and other ingredients that are easily put together to fit a Winnie the Pooh themed party.
The treats I made were:
These treats came out DELISH and were thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Winnie the Pooh Activities
A. A. Milne Poetry
I read some of A. A. Milne’s poetry from his book When We Were Very Young to my children while they enjoyed eating their Hundred Acre Wood treats!
Build a House for Eeyore
In The House at Pooh Corner, Eeyore’s friends build him a house out of sticks. I had my boys build a house for Eeyore out of Lincoln Logs that the small plush Eeyore could fit into.
My kids love anything to do with building, so they thoroughly enjoyed completing this activity.
Movie Night
We watched the movie Christopher Robin, which we all LOVED. It was such a cute movie.
The beginning is a bit sad/heavy, but about 20 minutes into it the movie gets really good and is child friendly. My kids loved it.

We had such a fun time with our first book party for The House at Pooh Corner, and we can’t wait for our next book party!
Thanks for reading!
